Playing for the Queen of Belgium
Queen Mathilde received an honorary doctorate from UHasselt this afternoon. Her majesty receives the recognition for her strong role in addressing problems in our society, around child poverty and mental health, for example. Remarkably, the Queen accepted the honorary doctorate with a strongly committed speech. Queen Mathilde called attention to vulnerable people and dedicated the honorary doctorate to female victims of violence she recently met in Congo. During the ceremony an important role was also reserved for student Mira Jablonska who gave a remarkable testimony and for the internationally renowned classical concert pianist Marie François who played piano for Her majesty.
