THE CORONA TALKS

After organizing the concert The Corona Cure—an initiative to bring healing through music during the pandemic (hihi)—a new lockdown made live events impossible once again. In response, I created an online talk show called The Corona Talks.

The show became a platform to connect with the audience and spark meaningful discussions about classical music. I invited artists, musicologists, and radio hosts to share their perspectives, exploring topics like the future of classical music, the impact of COVID-19 on the arts, and the personal experiences of those in the music world. The Corona Talks provided an opportunity for in-depth conversations about the challenges and opportunities in the classical music community, keeping the dialogue alive even in challenging times.

I talked with professor & pianist Marc Erkens, conductor Dirk Brossé and Jan Caeyers, harpist Anneleen Lenaerts, pianist Julien Libeer, Nicolas van Poucke and Lilya Zilberstein, TV host Thomas Vanderveken & radio host Heidi Lenaerts.

Thanks to Maarten Goethals for helping to make sure every conversation was well prepared and broadcasted online.
