PODCAST AWARD FOR BEST INDEPENDENT STORY
I won the Belgian Podcast Award for the Best Independent Story.
I can hardly believe it... When I started this journey, and I have said this so many times, I never imagined this would ever happen. I had an idea in mind that I wanted to go to Warsaw, get inspired by the culture, the country, the language—everything that Chopin was and still is through his music. I wanted to also create a podcast documenting my journey and invite you, the audience, along for the ride. One year later, I've played the nocturnes more than ever and found myself nominated for this award, which felt incredible to me.
A jury selected my podcast, Who Doesn't Love Chopin's Nocturnes? from many high-quality productions with large budgets. I didn’t have those resources—just an idea, a passion, and the drive to create something heartfelt with the best quality possible. Last month, I asked you all to vote through my newsletters and during my concerts, so I could maybe have the chance to win... And: it worked!
At the end of the evening, the director of the podcast awards came to me to congratulate me and mentioned that my podcast received an overwhelming number of audience votes—and that's all because of your support. This touched me probably the most.
My goal was always to build a community through this platform, and we did that together. I am so thankful and emotional. Your belief in me and your support moves me every day profoundly.
